In accordance with the design standards of American passenger railway vehicle, low carbon stainless steel and low alloy high strength steel conforming to the American Standard are used for the design of the body structure. The spot welding joint on the Multi-level stainless steel car body meet the welding standard AWD D17.2 and AWS C1.1., and the form of arc welded joints are designed according to AWS D1.1 and AWS D17.2 respectively according to different plate thicknesses. The car body components and car body assemblies are suitable for modular manufacturing, and lead to small welding deformation. The visual surface flatness of side wall,side top and end wall is good, which can meet the beautiful and smooth appearance requirements of the car body. The comparative analysis of the car body static strength, flexural calculation results and test data shows that the strength of the test car body conforms to the American passenger rail vehicle design standard APTA PR-CS-S-034-99, the car body is safe and reliability.
