The fixed medium frequency inverter resistance spot welding machine was used to weld HR800 CP complex-phase steel with 2.2 mm thickness. The welding current window,microstructure, mechanical properties and electrode life of the steel plate under this process are analyzed. The results show that the welding lobe of this steel is 1.8 k A,which meets the requirements of use. The maximum shear force and positive tensile force of the welding point with the maximum welding current are 28 212.9 N and 1 6917.2 N, which are respectively14.4% and 22.35% higher than the minimum welding current.After continuously welding 500 points with the maximum welding current, the size of the nugget(6.30 mm) is still larger than the minimum nugget size(5.93 mm), and the service life of the electrode exceeds 500 points.
