Through the welding process test, the welding process characteristics of Tri-Arc and Tandem dual wire welding were compared. The results show that Tri-Arc dual wire welding not only has the same welding efficiency as Tandem dual wire welding, but also has a lower welding heat input than Tandem dual wire welding under the same wire deposition rate(wire feed speed) and welding speed conditions. The results are reflected in lower weld penetration ratio and less welding deformation. Therefore, Tri-Arc can replace Tandem in all efficient welding applications and achieve the same or even higher wire deposition rate, as well as providing superior welding performance and a wider range of applications.
