In the process of manufacturing industry development,lean production has evolved from a common production management concept to a new generation of management philosophy through continuous practice until it is maturely applied to automobile,aviation,electronic products,medical and health industries. The new production mode has created numerous business miracles in the development of world-famous enterprises,but in the petroleum drilling rig industry based on heavy steel structure riveting and welding processing,this production method is still in the initial stage of exploration. Based on the current situation of drilling rig production in X company,the sustainable improvement points of drilling rig production is analyzed by combining with modern advanced manufacturing mode,and a specific implementation plan is made by applying lean principle and improvement method. The expected goal of the plan is to get rid of the old production at the present stage,to make the drilling rig riveting and welding production transition from extensive mode to intensive mode,and finally to achieve the win-win goal of the enterprise and employees.
