The advanced high-strength steel used for the manufacture of car body has characteristics of both light weight and safety,so the application and use ratio in the car has increased year by year. Resistance spot welding is particularly suitable for large-scale automated production of automotive bodies,and it is an important process for modern automotive body connections. Compared with ordinary steel plates,hot-formed steel has the characteristics of ultra-high strength and very small deformation coefficient,so as to the weldability of resistance spot welding is very different. In addition,some problems such as heat affected zone softening,weld core embrittlement and welding spatter usually happen during welding. The characteristics of hot formed automotive steel sheets and the characteristics of resistance spot welding process are firstly analyzed,then the resistance spot welding technology of hot formed steel and its application status are discussed.
