Titanium and titanium alloys have the advantages of both steel(high strength) and aluminum(light weight) as well as excellent corrosion resistance. They are widely used in the fields of aviation,aerospace, chemical engineering and metallurgy. The microstructure characteristics of TIG and LBW welded joints are introduced, and the method of evaluating the corrosion resistance of titanium and titanium alloy welded joints is summarized and compared with base material. The study finds that: titanium and titanium alloy welded joint microstructures change or more stable oxide film makes titanium and titanium alloy welded joints have improved corrosion resistance.
