Orthotropic steel bridge deck is a common structure in large and medium span steel bridges. Its fatigue problem is outstanding and has been a hot topic in the field of bridge construction. The domestic and foreign scholars in this field have achieved a series of research results,and put forward many innovative optimization schemes. In this paper,the cause of fatigue crack is explained in detail,it is considered that the main cause is the large surface deformation caused by the insufficient local stiffness of the panel. The four optimization schemes,such as the upside U rib,the U rib internal welding,the U rib penetration welding and the improvement of the panel stiffness,are discussed respectively,and some suggestions for the study of the fatigue of orthotropic steel bridge panel are put forward.
