In this paper,stainless steel of railway vehicles（1.5 mm-EN1.4318+2 G and 1.5 mm-SUS301 L-HT）were welded by conventional spot welding and spot weld bonding with precoated structural adhesive on intermediate frequency inverter resistance spot welding machine.Visual testing,macroscopic examination,shear tensile testing,and metallographic examination were carried on according to the product standard after welding. Results show that the spot weld bonding joints have good appearance quality and shallow surface indentation under lower welding current and electrode force. Moreover,penetration rates and nugget diameter of bonding joints meet the product requirements,and the spot weld bonding joints have better tensile shear property than the conventional spot welded joints.
