Draw-arc stud welding process optimization of different stud diameter and analysis of properties and microstructure of welding joint
Taking 316 stainless steel as the base material,and the diameter of M6 and M8 stainless steel studs was used for welding.The influence of the diameter of the stud on the welding process of 316 stainless steel draw-arc stud and the microstructure of the joint was studied. The results show that the optimum welding time was extended and the adjustable range of optimum welding time narrowed with the increase of the diameter of the stud. The optimum welding time of M8 stud was 68 ms compared with M6 which was only 60 ms.The optimization welding time of M6 stud could be adjusted in the range of 52~60 ms while the M8 one was in the range of 64~68 ms.At the case of the corresponding optimum parameters,the columnar crystals significantly grew and ratio of width to length become small.Besides,the maximum bending angle of M6 could reach up to 75° before the crack appeared while M8 one was only 66°.
