Practice teaching has important function in improving students’ innovative capacity. This paper introduces the organization and implementation process of the welding competition of Chongqing University of Science and Technology. The problems are pointed out in welding competition.Through the competition,the result shows that students’ innovation consciousness and practice ability has a certain degree of improvement.The competition can also improve the utilization ratio of laboratory equipment and the quality of students,promote the reform of the theory and practice teaching.
