Electrical additive manufacturing（EAM for short）is a kind of additive manufacturing,that melt the metal wire by arc heat and resistance heat. Due to the unique technical characters,it is the preferred additive manufacturing technology for large metal component. This paper briefly introduced the technical principle and characters of electrical additive manufacturing. Analyzed the macro-profile,micro-structure and mechanical property of the metal that produced by EAM. At the same time,briefly introduced the advantage of EAM to large metal component,the focus of attention was put forward for the development of EAM.
