The selection principle and engineering application of duplex stainless steel welding consumables were reviewed. The results show that the principle of "quasi-component matching" can be adopted in the selection of welding consumables for this steel, that is,to make the content of Cr in the weld as close as possible to the base metal,to increase the content of Ni and to add an appropriate amount of N,to reasonably control the ratio of ferrite to austenite in the weld, and to ensure the satisfactory corrosion resistance and weldability of the joint. There are five types of steel welding consumables, and various Processes have their own characteristics. The combination processes of FCAW backing welding and various high efficiency welding methods have obvious advantages. The duplex stainless steel welded joints with different thicknesses or positions, using matched welding consumables and reasonable processes, have been successfully applied in different projects. The quality stability of the flux-cored wire still needs to be strictly controlled.
