Several welding methods commonly applied in rail welding are introduced,including their applicable conditions and occasions. The domestic quality control(QC) system of high-speed rail welding is analyzed in consideration of many factors such as materials,welding equipments,technical conditions for on-site welding construction and etc. Based on above,series of strategies to ensure quality of the rail joint are proposed as follows:proper welding method and on-site construction technologies should be applied to grantee the joint quality;optimal welding combinations should be adopted to improve the quality and efficiency of on-site rail welding;thermit welding is suitable for in situ rail welding and other space limited occasions;numerically controlled gas pressure welding should be applied in locked rail welding of assembled joints,and flash-butt welding is suitable for the rest occasions. After issue analysis of flash-butt welding equipments at home and abroad,a few trends for flash-butt welding equipments and technologies are listed to help ensuring high quality of rail joints.
