With the rapid development of globalization and manufacturing

there is an increasing demand for welding skilled talents with international qualifications. This paper aims to explore the international development status

training

and qualification requirements of typical international welding skilled talents - International Welding Technicians (IWP)

as well as their implementation in China. Firstly

the international development status of IWP is introduced

including the authorized training institutions of the International Institute of Welding (IIW) and the number of IWP certificates issued globally. Subsequently

the enrollment qualifications

course settings

and qualification requirements of IWP are elaborated in detail

including the content of basic courses

welding practice

and main courses

as well as the specific requirements for skill training and theoretical training. Then

the paper introduces the training and implementation models of IWP in China

including the centralized training model of training bases

the training model combined with on-site international qualification welder training in enterprises

and the training model combined with the teaching system of vocational colleges. Finally

the necessity of promoting IWP in China is summarized

including improving the comprehensive quality of welders

meeting the needs of enterprises with international qualification certification

and enhancing the internal welding skill level of enterprises. With the advancement of the international welding training system in China

the cultivation of IWP talents will provide strong support for enterprises to enter the international market and promote the international development of the welding industry.
