The results show that the Cu interlayer can effectively inhibit the brittle Ti-Fe intermetallic compound produced at the inter-face. And the tensile strength of welded joint significantly improves as welding speed increases. The interface of TC4 titanium alloy and weld is mainly composed of continuous Ti-Fe compound layer and intermittent Ti-Fe and Ti-Cu compound layers with thickness of 60 μm.
