Low density high manganese Fe-25 Mn-8/10 Al-1 C steel,a new lightweight high alloyed high carbon wear resistant steel,has extraordinary ductility and high tensile strength. This steel also has a larger tendency of cracking and hardening because of high carbon equivalent and aluminum content. The results showed that:the small deformation and good the performance of the joint was obtained due to the suitable welding heat input;minimum hardness value of the weld region,hardness value increased with the increase of the distance from the weld centerline;the hardness value of weld region and HAZ zone increased with the increase of the aluminum content,meanwhile,some strip ferrite is distributed in the austenite matrix of 10 Al steel.
