Key issues in laser cladding of tungsten carbide wear resistant materials
tungsten carbide material is widely used as a hard phase for laser cladding surface strengthening
which can greatly improve the surface wear resistance and corrosion resistance. Tungsten carbide improves the performance of laser cladding layer
but there are some problems such as pores
cracks and uneven tungsten carbide particles. A lot of researches have been carried out on the key issues of thermal history and microstructure evolution
convection and element diffusion in molten pool
decomposition and thermal damage
thermal stress and defect
and wear mechanism during laser cladding process of tungsten carbide. On this basis
the shortcomings and future development trend of laser cladding of tungsten carbide are pointed out.
